Hi I live/work in Metro lofts and am a former staffer at PED (1984-1994). It will be interesting to see if pedestrian scale street fixtures can really effect University Avenue enough to make it feel pedestrian friendly. I have a large degree of doubt.
I too am thrilled to see progress on LRT with the station just outside my door!

The Central Corridor (Green Line) LRT will connect downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul along University and Washington avenues through the State Capitol complex, Midway area, and University of Minnesota. But most importantly, it will stop right in front of my house.
